First let me say I am guilty of using eBooks…a lot. A lot a lot. I think over the past year I have only read using an eBook. It’s convenient. I can carry all my books together at once without hassle. I don’t have to go to a store to buy it. If you have a kindle, nook, iPad, or any other type of tablet getting an eBook is just a click away. So yes I like eBooks, you like eBooks, we like eBooks! But whatever happened to having a real book in your hand?
For all those aspiring writers out there let me tell you a story!
I was in elementary school when I first started writing poetry. I loved the sounds of the rhymes in poems. As a little girl I just wanted to make a poem of my own. So I did! Only they weren’t the poems that you would read in Maya Angelou’s poetry books. I was little! Mostly it was just me trying to put together rhyming words. Don’t believe me? Buy my poetry book Emotions and you’ll have your proof. Flip through the pages and I’m sure you will find many poems that look as if a little girl wrote them! That was the start of my writing career.
I just want to say that when I was younger I hated reading. I mean hated it with a passion. I was one of those kids that felt like it was cruel and unusual punishment for teachers to assign a required reading list and to be 100% honest I still do. Reading isn’t fun when you are forced to do it.
I just got the first draft to my book cover! Only minor changes needed to be made but lets just say that I am so excited! I can’t wait for the final draft! Hopefully I will be able to post it soon…
