Why don’t people like to read?

big booksI just want to say that when I was younger I hated reading. I mean hated it with a passion. I was one of those kids that felt like it was cruel and unusual punishment for teachers to assign a required reading list and to be 100% honest I still do. Reading isn’t fun when you are forced to do it.

On another note, I love reading. I mean I. love. it. I’m a fiction reader so you will find me reading books like Pride and Prejudice, The Hunger Games, Twilight, and Fifty shades of Grey. Don’t judge me! I love what I love. Like I said I wasn’t always like that. One day I picked up the right book and realized that I enjoy being dragged into a story. Whether it’s a romance, dystopian, or sci-fi novel, I love being dragged into a story. It’s like watching a movie that you get to direct in your head. YOUR OWN MOVIE that someone else wrote. I honestly feel as if I am watching a movie and I love it.

So why don’t people like to read?

It’s probably because they haven’t picked up the right book. Reading is great!

According to Pew Research Center, about 76% of adults read at least 1 book a year! That’s one book! At least they’re reading one book right? There was a time that I read 6 books in 1 week! It was a series and they weren’t short. I just couldn’t put them down. I literally read every day all day for an entire week and I’d do it again. I’m not the average reader. I can’t even count how many books I read a year. Well… I can but I choose not to… to many books to count.

Anyway, if you are in this 76% of adults that read at least 1 book a year and you have already read your one book. Please don’t stop there! Read another! Apparently reading is fundamental!

P.S. My book is coming out December 1, 2015 and I would love for you to put it on your reading list! Make my book your second read this year!

ON ANOTHER NOTE x2

I just watched the first episode of Empire season 2 and I loved it! You should check it out! Cookie is my favorite character!
